I am being transferred to the portland area and I'm having a hard time finding a place to live due to my horrible credit score. I will be living in a hotel until school is out and my family can move. Would need to stay around $1200-1500 per month. Any ideas?

Where will you be working? We don't want to recommend living in Troutdale if your job is in Hillsboro.

I will be traveling in and around the city. It looks like Beaverton is a good location?!?! But I'm flexible at this point.

So you're out and about all day throughout the Portland Metro Area? Rentals are tight in Portland proper. The east side of Beaverton is fairly centrally located. Maybe looking in the Raleigh Hills area?

Others on this board are really knowledgeable about the rental market, including some people who have moved here recently. I'm sure someone will chime in today on good places for you to look. Good luck!

Thanks. I would like to rent a 3 or 4 bedroom house where my credit will not be an issue.

It is pretty high. Coming from the Midwest, it has been eye opening!

It is what it is. When you're looking at a desirable place to live, demand is high. And that causes higher prices.
