That's what I keep hoping when I hear about traffic snarls in the Portland-Vancouver area ... that it's all a matter of perspective. I've never been in a worse area to drive than out here in the metro DC area, where it can take you half an hour to go a mile at rush hour. I am NOT gonna miss that ...

The Ridgefield area is another great place to live in the Vancouver area. We moved here a little over a year from Tampa ,where traffic was horrible, and we are loving it. Ridgefield has a very small town feel, but has access to Portland from either I-5 or I-205 depending on where you need yo go in Portland. You can go to Clark County's Top Realtor to have access to unlimited searches for schools, homes and community information.

I was in Yacolt, Battleground, Orchards, Camas and Vancouver yesterday. Drove across the I205 bridge into Portland at 5:15. The traffic heading into Washington was moving right along. There were no back ups at all. I was on the 205 for ten miles or so and Northbound traffic was moving as fast as Southbound. I was doing 60 and I wasn't in the lane with the fastest moving traffic. I took note because of this thread.

I have routinely spent hours in stop and go getting into Portland from the Coast or Hillsboro on Hwy 26. I try to stay at the coast until it is late enough to miss it but so many stores there roll up the sidewalks at 4 it makes it rough. I hate traveling on 26.
