Nah, in Shannon's case he has done stuff beyond donuts. Unless you think of it as advertising himself which he seems to love to do. Anything for attention.

Exactly! That is why I always take care to point out that for the most part, racism towards specific groups tended to be short lived in Oregon. There are exceptions of course, but generally that seems to be true the more you do research into Oregon's history of issues.

To be a racist takes a lot of energy, it is a rare Portlander who is into that. I have a former collogue who borders on racist, we don't invite him to our gatherings because we don't agree with his attitude. He will die a lonely man, he has few friends.

Naw we need to get past this ideal of racism, im not saying it doesn't happen, im saying in this day and age its not the color of your skin that is much of the issue but the class your in. Classism is the new racism. I see that in portland, it doesn't matter what race, sex etc. if you can afford justice your sol.

Im from Portland, and it is my favorite place in the whole United States. Im black female and it depends on your state of mind. ALL cities can be racist at some time, and some areas more than others. I live in NYC for past 15 years and this place can be race central! Im sooo ready to leave here. Portland offers a very laid-back and comfortale lifestyle for all who want that.

What obvious? That it is a doughnut?

But I must agree it is more about class.
