Not to tick any one race off (im a black female living in Harlem) but, these donuts are hilarious... LMAO!!! Might I add "if you are the only black in the workplace, and they go get a dozen donuts and only ONE is the black voodoo... this should raise an eyebrow."

Just thought Id mention there was an actual episode of "tales from the darkside" that literally had a voodoo donut place in it, run by a black witch! And the donut had voodoo effects! Ironic considering this thread!

Thanks for displaying your honest attitudes towards this issue. Now people of color know that open mockery of thier race is not only tolerated in Portland, but makes for a viable business model. Now its your turn to mock me for pointing out the obvious.
Make sure you ignore points, mask contempt with weak humor and avoid personal accountability for casually tolerating intolerance.

Oh wait, thats already been done here. Never mind.

Honestly, that donut wouldn't have lasted a day in Chicago, Philadelphia, NYC, Detroit or Atlanta. I could see Jesse Jackson circling the wagons now.

I see enough of that crap in human society and I hate it personally. I don't like seeing it when theres only one black in a group of whites. I call it token negro syndrome.

But if you want my opinion as someone who grew up in the upper south and went to a high school that was 1/3 black, Portlanders, by and large, are very awkward around minorities, especially black people. It's nearly painful.

It's more accurate to say that everyone in Portland is not black. It's almost one-third nonwhite, but there are more Hispanics and more Asians in Portland than there are blacks.
