We will most likely be visiting the area next year, no exact wedding date has been set, so I can't give a precise month. Perhaps September? Anyway, which spots are the most worthwhile and interesting? Cute bed-and-breakfasts? Vegan eateries? The best local breweries/wineries in the surrounding area? Thanks.

What kinds of things are you guys interested in doing?

This link may help you for two of your three requests: Vegan Guide to Portland

Some other options for Vegan B&Bs. No information on any of them, they just showed up in Google in this order.

Thank you for these links, very helpful. We enjoy hiking, can possibly spend an afternoon on some good trails. As we love reading, I'm sure we will be spending a day at Powell's headquarters. Are there any other interesting book shops you might recommend? My fiancee is also a photographer, so any places that might offer some great photo opportunities are appreciated.

Washington Park PDX | Learn about Portland's Washington Park and the Portland Japanese Garden | Portland, Oregon are fantastic photography sites. Nearby Pittock Mansion is nice too.

By September the stream that feeds Multnomah Falls will not be a full flow but it should still be picture worthy. For honeymooners Timberline Lodge | Timberline Lodge on Mt. Hood is hard to beat.

Timberline lodge, a 1930s CCC lodge on Mt. Hood. September is still off season, so you can find good rates. You can hike mountain trails, or ski the Palmer snow field if you ski. Timberline Lodge | Timberline Lodge

Silver Falls State Park is also camera ready, and an easy day trip from Portland. Oregon State Parks and Recreation Department: Silver Falls State Park

On you way there, the Mt. Angel Octoberfest will be running September 12-15. Mount Angel Oktoberfest - Home

If you want to stay in the city, try a jet boat ride on the Willamette, Willamette Jet Boats or a sternwheeler cruise on the Columbia. Portland Spirit River Cruises - Cruises on The Columbia Gorge Sternwheeler Vessel | Dinner Cruises | Lunch and Brunch Cruises | Weddings | Willamette and Columbia River Reservations required.

Portland is also very near some of the finest wineries in the world. Google Portland Wine Tours for a list of everything from guided tours to hand-you-a-map tours. Individual wineries also have festivals and entertainment on weekends in September.

Trust me, there will be no shortage of things to do. Give my best to the bride.

Thank you, Larry Caldwell. I've bookmarked the pages from the links you have submitted here, and we will have plenty to look forward to in our trip.

Too many to count. Anywhere up the Columbia River Gorge. Any of the Gardens in Portland (Rose Gardens, Japanese Gardens, Chinese Gardens, Rhododendron Gardens, etc.) Along the Waterfront, throughout downtown Portland. Best views of Mt. Hood are from Rose Gardens, Rocky Butte, and Larch Mountain in the Gorge.
