Since SAD is caused by lack of sunshine, it would make sense that SAD is a possible issue in Portland, during winter months.

PDX is very sad indeed. A lot of people have inferiority complexes too.

Based off your posts and threads, I think you might have an inferiority complex.

What they failed to do is come to the cities and interview actual people to find out how happy they are.

Instead they did it via spreadsheet.
Agreed. People love Portland for the culture and the lifestyle. Those are intangible things that cannot be accounted for in a spreadsheet.

Gosh! I should be sad since I live in Portland but considering my kids are getting a good public education, my kids are making good friends and my grocery bill is cheaper than the expensive cities I lived prior to Portland... well, not so sad. We are lucky to be able to find the sun in Spring. Spring is the only time I truly miss the sun. Right now I am too hot from the sun!

Growing up there, I found that anyone who was born and raised in Oregon for the most part wasn't affected by the weather and were evenly depressed/happy/normal compared to people in more bright areas. However for folks moving from the very sunny areas of the world to Oregon there was certainly an adjustment period where they were depressed and on occasion they just couldn't take it and would leave.
