I see people wearing them in the summertime. They must be hotter than He11. I call them Heidi hats because that's something I think of Shirley Temple wearing in the movie "Heidi" and if she didn't she should have. They are cute on small children, almost bearable on young women but look absolutely ridiculous on men.

I have a Trapper hat with ear flaps, which keeps my ears warm in winter...

But I bet you don't wear it in the summer. I saw a young man during this heat wave wearing a knit wool cap with those thingys hanging down walking along Hawthorne during this last 90 degree heat wave.

I recently saw someone wearing one of the hats being described but didnt realize it was a trend. Looked strange in warmer weather.

No, I don't wear any hat when it's warm/hot. I put my head out my pickup window, & let the wind blow......heehee......
