Have you heard stories of inner-NE Portland and what it was like prior to the gentrification that began around the turn of the century? Would you like to read a book containing many of these stories? Have you ever wondered what Portland's gang culture is like and how it has changed over the years? There is a book that has been written about all of this. The author is on Kickstarter trying to raise funds to publish the story in order to share it with the rest of the world. The author has captured a piece of Portland's history that has yet to be preserved. Check out the link for more info. This is a very interesting story that deserves to be published. It is a piece of Portland's history that should not be ignored based on most people's impression of Portland as being a clean, 'green' city. It's a story depicting an ugly under-belly to a city that is otherwise thought to be pristine and wholesome.

Life of Crime by Robert Raymond Rean — Kickstarter

I think a couple years ago someone was going to shoot a movie about Portland's Hoover gang. He may have posted on this forum

I read the link and Raymond's bio. I have lived in Portland longer than I care to remember, more than 60 years, most in NE, but thankfully not in Raymond's neighborhoods so I am not acquainted with gangs and gang activity outside media reports. I think his undertaking, publishing a book, is a noble for a young man with such an unusual story to tell.
