My husband and I are looking for a short term lease arrangement. We have found two different places that are willing to offer this. We are not sure where in the Portland area he will be transferred too. What area would be better?

The Beaverton address is a much nicer area. The Portland address is also on the PDX flight path.

Though I've lived out on the eastside for 7 years(and just moved further east) that area of NE Portland isn't all that great. Honestly, I wouldn't want to live right off that part of NE Sandy.

That part of Beaverton is fine--it's a comfortable suburban area--and to be honest if you're not fighting traffic(can be bad on Highway 26 going east) it's really just slightly longer to get to downtown Portland from the Beaverton location as it from the NE Portland location. Beaverton isn't that bad, and it's a relatively short drive to get into Portland to do stuff...

I'd go for Beaverton with those choices

I'm a big fan of NE Portland- even the rougher spots- but with those choices I'd go with Beaverton too. That stretch of Sandy is busy and noisy (traffic and airport), with nothing very close nearby as far as shopping or recreation. Checking Maps and Street View, the Beaverton place looks nicer, and is close to a park and public transit as well as Highway 26.
