Is there such a place? Westside would be better but anywhere in the greater Portland area would work.

I don't know if they carry cellphones, but I've bought used electronics, etc. at a place called "Stuff" on 82nd.

Not sure what you are looking for but eBay is where I've purchased all our used cell phones from.

I was looking for one myself just recently. There are a few listed if you google them. I bookmarked this one. I haven't been there though so no opinion.

Seems like I've seen one in the Lloyd mall around GNC on the second floor.

Thanks for all the suggestions. This will be for my wife (her first smartphone) so I don't know what I want besides not wanting to spend $500-$600. We're with T-Mobile on their family plan which is three crappy phones for two years (one year left) at about $68.00 per month. We can add one smartphone for an additional $20 per month, so if we can find something in the $200 range with a large screen (her only preference) we're good to go. Any suggestions on phone models?

Hey Sherwoody. When you're buying a used / refurbed phone bear in mind that it may have suffered at the hands of the last user. The vast majority of mobile malware is aimed at Android phones. Apple's iOS and Windows Phone have the least amount of malware, each less than 1% reported in 2012. Given that I'd go for a used iPhone or used Windows phone. For the record, it seems like Nokia makes most of the Windows phones I've seen.

I once went to a cell phone store that looked like it had been used.
