My husband and I pay every time! Never occurred to me not to ... Just wasn't raised that way.

Do most people buy a monthly pass (at $100 a pop, not really worth it unless you ride almost every day). Or are most people rolling the dice and free loading off the system?
Yes, you are the only one.

The people of Portland thank you for making the entire transit system possible for the rest of us.

I occasionally wonder if the people next to me paid for their ticket, as I see very few actually doing that act. But I also know there are numerous variances that would allow me to not see them paying for it, so I tend to just have the attitude, "assume they paid and don't judge." Makes things go easier on my stress level.

I'm new to Portland so forgive me if this has been asked before but why doesn't the MAX have turnstiles or gates of any kind? Seems like that would solve a lot of issues...
