It's Miss Delta on Mississippi by far in my opinion. What's your favorite spot for southern fried deliciousness?

Being vegan, it would be Homegrown Smoker on Mississippi; out-of-this-world Southern goodness!

There use to be a great pulled pork cart downtown at 5th and Stark, but I think they eventually closed down. Too much prep work and not enough profit. Miss Delta was always a good stop for southern food, also Holman's has some good southern menu items, their chicken fried steak is fantastic....though have 911 predialed just in case because it is a heart attack waiting to happen.

I'd like to try out some of these places too. I've been to a few southern style restaurants here but so far none of them have really lived up to the authentic stuff I grew up with in TN. I found Pine State Biscuits on Google but I can't find Coleman's. Where is it?

I'd kill for some good fried okra!

Holman's is a bar on 24th and E Burnside, it is a great bar.

Unfortunately a great place for fried okra was on Hawthorne until they closed down a few years ago.

Po' Shines in Kenton has fried okra, and consistently draws strong reviews in general. Though i can't speak to the Okra specifically.

Since Kenton isn't a city-wide draw for most it's underappreciated, and IIRC they're closed on Sundays, which means non-locals are fairly limited to going just on Saturday.
