No, the iPad works just fine. I guess I didn't explain myself very well. We were using Google Maps for directions, which we have in many other places. We were coming from Lake Oswego and heading to NW Portland and the app kept losing the connection and at rather inopportune times. I just figured it was Verizon, but I suppose it could be the map app we were using. I eventually just used it without the direction part and it was much better. I can get around town great already, but the freeways still confuse me terribly!

Think of the freeways this way: I-5 runs north & south, I-84 & the Sunset (Hgy 26) run east and west. There is a kind of a half donut that connects them (I- 405).

Interstate I-205 runs north & south on the far eastern part of the city. That freeway joins I-5 north of Vancouver, WA and south of Lake Oswego, OR.

There is an overloaded connector west of the city (I-217) that connects the Sunset to I-5 south of the city.
