Does anyone on here play at some of the clubs fairly regularly? Do the clubs get a good crowd and always have games running? I'm not expecting the clubs to be like Vegas, but are they nice enough?

Thanks in advance.

I think Steve Pickering said he plays poker in Portland.

I do but it is in a League. The Poker Clubs tend to fleece newcomers. They play together all the time and tend to know how each other bet. Some of them are pretty rough. The casinos are your best bet for a game. And if you just want to play (For a seat at the world Series of Poker in Las Vegas) GoAllInOregon.Com

Are there any clubs which are anything close to a Vegas-type of poker room atmosphere? I don't mean glitzy, but crowded and popular and filled with players even during the day. I'm fairly skilled (humbly said if possible), so I don't have to worry about being the new guy. Collusion is always an issue, but that is a question for another time. If I move near Portland from New Jersey (which has Borgata, Caesars, etc.), will I find anything similar in terms of poker rooms anywhere? I don't mean hours away at a casino either. I mean something to play regularly that provides good stakes and competition.

Thanks in advance.

Steve, casinos right near or in Portland? Can you give me the names and I will search them, or maybe you could tell me how popular poker is in each if you have the time. Either way, thanks in advance.

Spirit Mountain, Wild Horse, Chinook Winds, the Palace. There are at least a dozen more.

???

None of those is within an hour of Portland.

A google search for "poker near Portland, OR" turned up a couple of possibilities but I don't play poker so I'm not familiar with any of them.

I know the Palace Casino is only 20 miles from Portland. Spirit Mountain is less than an hour.

Spirit Mountain is more like a 1.5 - 2 hour drive. When my brother worked at Spirit Mountain he moved to Portland a commuted until he found a job in Portland.

I think there are some card rooms off I-5 not to far into Washington.
