Well, to me, it looks like a pool full of spawning salmon.

Fresh ones layin' it down, and old fish bones.

Was that the intent?

Or am I just too Oregon backwoods?

Way to let the cat out of the bag MIKE, there's a whole PR campaign set to celebrate the new carpet based on the tag line:
"Fly PDX... where fresh ones are layin' it down"

Holy cow! As many times as I've been to PDX I apparently never paid enough attention to their carpet because I can't remember what it looks like. I guess that confirms the stupor I'm in just to get from there to where I'm going.

Or it possibly means you actually live a real life and would never pay attention to something this mundane.

My wife and I had a fun time yesterday taking photos of the carpet while waiting for her dad to arrive. I am definitely gonna miss that pattern, it has to be one of the calmest airports I have ever been in.

Though on a side note, I noticed some changed already made, they added food carts to the cafeteria area available to people waiting, that was an interesting and impressive touch.

Flown in and out of PDX maybe a hundred times in the last three years and I had no idea that people were so in love with that carpet. I barely noticed it myself.

I suppose I'm out of touch.

I remember noticing it the first time I saw it and thinking the color scheme and pattern looked very early 90s computer generated. The new one maintains the color scheme and early 90s computer generated look.

Not really seeing the big deal. They look so similar I doubt I would have even noticed that it had changed.

Now, if they made it suddenly not be green anymore, it'd be obviously different.
