I am amazed, I been may countries in my life. For a city as sophisticated as Portland not having a single establishment dumbstruck me. People pay big bucks online, why not have a place we're we all singles can get together. It works I seen it in NY, Ukraine, France, Germany. Some one is missing out in good business.

I think in Portland we call it every bar in Portland.....walk into any bar here and it is gonna be full of singles. Also, if you walk into any strip club here, they too will be full of singles.

Isn't the "singles bar" kind of a dated concept, at least in the U.S.? I can't think of any bar anywhere that advertises itself as a "singles bar." Like the previous poster said, single people just go to bars hoping to meet other singles, and that's true everywhere, not just in Portland.
