And its going to continue into Friday. I seriously feel like we are being robbed 1 week of summer...as if summer in portland is not already short enough.

Is the rain keeping you in this weekend?

First it was the fire, now its the rain. My toddlers have been housebound for almost half a month.

Fantastic, back to normal! My yard needs the rain, I need the rain and the wildfires need the rain. IMHO rain does not preclude any outdoor activities, after all that is why wet weather gear was invented. My kids love to go out and walk in the woods and fields when it is raining. Not so much when it is blazing hot and 100, there isn't a lot you can do when you are already down to a tee shirt, shorts and flip flops!

The reason for the horrific fires is not enough rain. Praise the rain. I just wish it was more. And toddlers should get used to playing in a little rain here; they won't melt

We need the rain and my kids play more outside when it's damp and ven raining than when it's 80 degrees and sunny. Get used to the weather or you will hate it here.

Robbed of summer? This was one of the hottest, longest driest summer in the Pacific NW that I can remember. It was even summer-like way back in the spring.

The rain is a welcome return--I didn't have to water all my plants this weekend and maybe even some grass might grow back in my yard.

No, I am just used to Portland having distinct seasons. The spring is breezy and rainy, winter is cold, summers are hot. I dont mind the rain all the other seasons its just we've been inside for almost the entire month of august to due my husband working from morning til late at night and finally gets a few days off, only to be stuck with this weather. So obviously we cant head to the beach or anything.

I've lived here practically my entire life. Came here when I was 9 months old, I am turnign 26 now. I love the rain, dont get me wrong, but summers in portland are usually short (except for this year which is kinda rare). Oregon has beautiful summers and with the rain coming out of nowhere, there's one less week to do things.

Haha, I mentioned the wildfires but totally forgot that having some rain would benefit it. My brain is a little mushy this morning thanks to my 1 year old keeping me up all night.
