1400 acres. 8000 New homes. 20,000 new residents.

Glad to see an area outside of Portland begin to do some of the heavy lifting.

Except that the planners paid no attention to the repercussions of traffic. That development is off TV Hwy, and all those residents will have to spill into TV Hwy and Farmington, which are both very congested, prone to wrecks, and stalled traffic. 20,000 is a LOT - that's a whole new town in itself. The development will not be close enough to MAX to entice a lot of riders, and MAX trains are horribly packed during peak times (and I can't see them running many more trains - especially when it gets hot or icy).

There is another area in Hillsboro that is developing but it won't be that large.

Oh jeez. I'm ready to leave this area already. Too much development and not enough roads (granted, I'm curious to see how much the expansion of Cornelius Pass Rd will help or do nothing.

As a WA County resident I try to stay off the roads during rush hours. Don't know what the solution is as I still am navigating the area.

Rancho Hillsboro will be a very nice habitat for our California transplants. Maybe they will put an In N Out on TV highway.

Really? In and Out is a SoCal thing as we didn't have that chain in Bay Area until the late 90's, I think. Thanks for thinking of us, Californians, though I think we are doing ok with Burgerville.😎

Well, there actually WAS an Inn-N-Out on TV Hwy for a short while. It was a smoke shop with an Inn-N-Out sign out front that was almost an exact replica of the burger chain's. Looked like it may have cost a bit to have it made, but....

It wasn't up for long before they had to take it down. I wondered if they were going to get away with it.

Growing South Hillsboro

Quote:
South Hillsboro is 1,400 acres of open space, farmland and developed property
that is in the process of becoming an entirely new community. Recently added to the
Urban Growth Boundary, South Hillsboro will help meet some of our current and future
needs for housing while building an amazing neighborhood that is aligned with our
City’s values. South Hillsboro will be built in a way that accommodates growth and
prosperity, while preserving the quality of life we all value.
