Depends. Are you looking for sushi-train type sushi, sit-down but not too expensive, or fancier?

Not too expensive like to sit at a table unless the bar is active.

Our favorite is probably Yama Sushi and Izakaya on Clinton.

The classic plaice for inexpensive, HUGE sushi is Saburo's in Sellwood. Their crab hand roll is as big as a burrito!

Crazy Sushi is good. A couple other sit-down places we like that are not as expensive as Bamboo or the like are Ichidai on Powell, Mika Sushi downtown and Sushi and Maki on 82nd.

If you want "not too expensive," the Mio Sushi chain is also quite decent.

As far as if you do want an active train, Akira Sushi in Clakamas, Sushi Train in Tualatin and Sushi Valley in Oregon City are our favorites.

I can probably think of a few more if needed

Normal service - Yama, in the Pearl
Belts - Sushi Takahashi 2, up by the track at SW Barbur & Sheridan
Sensei Sushi on 2nd & Morrison

In my humblest of opinions, Bamboo is way overrated
