Just found these apts on Craigslist. Checked the schools, and from elementary up to high school they look great. They're kind of out of the way, but looks like you can still get to Powell's in about 15 minutes. Price is 1399.00. Sounds too good to be true. Is there a reason for the low price?

I don't think that's low for a one bedroom apartment. I pay about the same thing for a 3+2 in the burbs.

2 br. Wow. I guess I'm just used to DC prices? I am getting more and more excited about possibly moving there if this is not considered dirt low. I know, pay may be a little less in Portland.....

That could be a scam on Craigslist. Scammers will "borrow" info and pics from real websites for their scams. You should contact the apartments direct. The 2 + 2's are $1500 and up according to their website.

Ah definitely. Still a decent price, maybe they were running a special.

Those apartments are real - I have toured them before. Young residents, a lot of 20 and 30 somethings.

Housing is not considered cheap here compared to average incomes, but of course it depends on what you do for a living. Lots of people think "whoa cheap" from the outside, only to realize the limitations of the job/income situation after they move here.
