Cute meme but more relevant for transplants 20 years ago. Nowadays the new renters drive New Subarus and are already employed, often married without kids. Good luck to the young people who want to retire in Portland- their next stop should be Tacoma.

The only thing wrong with this is that the increase would be more like $100.00.

You voted for increased property taxes. What did you expect, the landlord to eat the higher cost? Tenants benefit from the services too.

Default This went way off topic quick...

Most rentals are free market. The market sets the rates. Leases and contracts can be negotiated. You don't like rate increases? Work it into the lease, set price for a set period.

My property tax went up nearly 20% with another added 15 cents per 100 dollars assessed MUD tax coming my way. These are the kind of costs landlords and property managers pass along to renters.

You don't like paying rent at all? Vote in massive public housing and stick it to the man.

Or $200. like ours did twice in 5 years. So happy we were able to buy a house this year.
