Hi,

Any recomendations from experts on a nice and reasonable whale watching tour from Seattle / Anacortes / Friday island.

I see there are multiple options available and most seem fine, but hoping for specific reco from members who would have done some of those.
We are planning a Seattle trip this coming weekend, so want to go Orca sightseeing having never done that earlier.

Cheers, Abhi

Try the Seattle forums.

We don't have many whales in Portland.
(At least the kind that you would want to spend money to see.)

Is it ? I read that Depoe bay and many other places in the coast are good areas for whale watching, the grey whales mostly.

Yeah, but Portland is 90 miles inland from the coast, and even farther from Depoe Bay.

And, yes, Depoe Bay does have a resident pod of whales.

There is a restaurant there called "Tidal Raves" that has great big windows and you often see them while you are eating there.

Plus you can stand by the sea wall with binoculars and spot them.

There are spots all along the coast where you can watch them when they are on the move.

But, Portland has absolutely no whales.
