My family and I are looking to move to the Portland Area. We are a family of 5. 2 adults and 3 litle kids and have a dog. And are in need of ideas of places that are very cheap to rent or motels that does weekly or monthly rates & must except pets.

Very difficult to find anything cheap in metro. The dog will only make it impossible, sorry to be doom and gloom. Look to SE Portland or NE Portland.

Basically, we need the cheapest place to get into until we can afford something better.

Check out Craig's List. There are also extended stay hotels out around the perimeter along the highways, which are cheaper than regular hotels. But still, with a crowd (and a dog), those'll probably be more than you want to spend.

I suggest you look at other threads on this forum. Also check out our local paper Willamette Week which publishes online as well as in print. There is an article about the rent situation in Portland. It may answer your questions.
