Correcting misconceptions about East Multnomah County again.

For those on here who apparently don't get out of Portland much, Gresham is not everything east of 205. It is a separate town east beyond Portland beginning generally around 174th with some zigs and zags in the boundary. However, the part west (closer to Portland) of 181st is really Rockwood, a formerly rural area that is half in Portland, half in Gresham, and now unfortunately one of the worst neighborhoods in Portland, and the worst by far in Gresham.
Rockwood does not represent Gresham anymore than its Portland half represents Portland. To get a really good neighborhood east of 205 and north of Happy Valley, you would basically, with some exceptions I'm sure, have to go all the way into the middle of Gresham or beyond. Much more leafy open space but far fewer transient camps, much less crowded, with a nice downtown.

Right on!
I see a ton of misconceptions here about the areas and neighborhoods and little towns that are not Portland.

It seems like a ton of people judge areas when driving through on a main thoroughfare, and then think that the rest of the area is just like it, while a block or two away can be drastically different.

Either that or they don't live here anymore and are giving memories of ten to twenty years ago as the current situation.

Oregon City is a prime example.
A LOT of people think that Oregon City is just that stretch on 99E along the Willamette River, when in reality, the real town is up on the bluff, and out of sight from 99E.
