Hey guys,

I'm moving to Tigard in a week. I'm really excited. Just wondering if anyone has suggestions for good restaurants to choose from. In Tigard, close to King City golf course is where I'm living, but anywhere in or close to Tigard would be nice to know about. (It doesn't have to be your absolute favorite -- just any solid place you've been to that you would recommend and could give a brief little description of. Just trying to get a feel for what's out there.)

Along the same lines, I'm wondering if there are any good bars that would be a fun place to watch the football games on Sunday or something.

Basically I'm just trying to get acclimated and would appreciate some local input. I like talking about eating and drinking! haha. I of course did a little browsing on google, but I figure people on here might be able to offer some good suggestions.

I like this one in Tigard for good food and great beer:

John Barleycorns Homepage brought to you by McMenamins (http://www.mcmenamins.com/index.php?loc=22 - broken link)

for low key comfort breakfast food I like Bannings:

Banning's Restaurant & Pie User Reviews - Tigard, OR 97223-8627 - Citysearch

There are many other options.. like Gustav's in Washington Square:

Gustav's Pub & Grill

Gustav's has good food

JB O'Brien's off 99W is within walking distance from King City. It's tucked in a little shopping strip, past Safeway. It's a small place but they seem to have pretty good food and the people there are always friendly. There is a brewpub in downtown Tigard that is pretty decent. I have only been there once but friendly staff, good brew, and good burgers. Mac's maybe? Dr. Feelgood's is up 99W a bit and they seem to be a bit rowdier. Pool tables, big screen tv's, etc. My husband used to go there to watch football games until the clientele got a little shady with drugs and whatnot. My husband says that out of those three, he likes JB O'Brien's the most. Hope that helps! Welcome!

Ahh, ya, JB O'Brien's appears to be right near me. I checked out their website and it looks like they have some pretty good food! I'll probably stop in and check them out next Sunday for the football games.

Thanks for the info.
