Great leader, great name. But... any NON-political thoughts?

Because my thoughts immediately defer to young Gen-Z's imagination running wild toward slangs like:

W-B High
Well-B High
Wee-B High
Wubbie High
Dubbie High
Doobie High

I imagine that parents, educators, admin don't really discuss these factors until it's too late anyway.

Personally, I would have voted for Beatrice Morrow Cannady HS.

They will eventually just settle on a one-word name. Probably "Wells"

No one called it the "Thomas Woodrow Wilson Memorial HS"

YES !

They should have named it after the news reporter on Married, With Children:

"Miranda Veracruz de la Hoya Cardinal" instead !

Wilson was perhaps the most notoriously racist president of the 20th Century. His administration did a lot to expand Jim Crow segregation throughout the Federal government across the country when prior to that it had mainly been just a southern thing. He also promoted the role and activities of the KKK throughout the south:

He was also one of the most "progressive" presidents until he was cancelled. He also was instrumental in the Allied victory in WWI and the creation of the League of Nations.

What sort of non-political thoughts do you expect to hear about a politically based name change?

My own opinion? Ida B Wells is a worthy figure in American history but she never set foot in the west, much less Oregon. She was born in slavery in Mississippi and spent most of her adult life as a writer and activist in Chicago. I would personally like to see place-names have more local relevance.
