My dad has advanced glaucoma with cataract in both eyes. OHSU Casey Eye Institute has just told him he needs surgery, and it's not going to be a straightforward one, as the surgeon will be getting rid of the cataract AND control the glaucoma at the same time (one eye at a time, of course).

The urgency of the surgery is a bit unclear. He wonders how long he can go without it and feels that he's being rushed into it. So he wants a second opinion.

I wonder what the best specialty ophthalmology clinics are around here, besides OHSU.

It all depends on the insurance network/out of network. I just had retina surgery with general anesthesia at Legacy Good Samaritan. They have an entire wing devoted to Ophthalmology. I'm very happy with the service and results.

They have valet parking

Good luck!
