The pedestrian bridge goes away from Providence. I think it's a fairly decent walk from the Max.

You are right, they have a shuttle:

Patients, visitors and employees of Providence Portland Medical Center can enjoy Providence's free shuttle service for those commuting via TriMet bus and MAX. Our wheelchair accessible vans run approximately every 20 minutes between the Hollywood Transit Center (NE 42nd and Halsey) and the medical facility, from 5:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., Monday through Friday.

SE bad? Maybe in the farther out areas, but Hawthorne, Belmont, Laurelhurst Park, Eastmoreland, Sellwood and Westmoreland to name a few are beautiful neighborhoods. Someone has been given erroneous information.

Default SE Portland

Sure there are a lot of guys pushing shopping carts around SE collecting bottles and cans and a lot of people with tattoos covering their bodies and stinky hippies, but all in all, I don't know why you'd want to live anywhere else than in SE Portland.

The community feeling, the well organized neighborhoods, ample parking, bike friendly, and plenty of new condos and townhomes that have been recently constructed, it may be more of what you are looking for. SE has an amazing community feeling and loads of restaurants and entertainment.

North Portland and NE not so much.

BUT, I suggest you search the Hollywood neighborhood which is actually NE. It's a neat little small city within Portland.

Default Me Too

I am going to be without a place to live on May 31st because I can't tolerate the bad smells and noisy Mexican families throughout Beaverton and especially on S.W. 170th.

Today, I found two really nasty one bedrooms for $700. a month! One landlord wanted me to fill out an application before I saw the rental. When I got to see it, it had a stove with caked on black "stuff".

The other $700. a month had crooked floors and barely working, old appliances.

People! Listen up! This is a nightmare and there's nothing natural or normal about it. This is blackmail and hostage taking and there are no rent controls or ethics or tenant laws to protect you. This is the new and improved Portland (f'g) Oregon.

Portland is a complete oversell and I am very sorry you are suffering.

If you can avoid it, don't come here...that is the only way to force change.

Leases that were started one year ago are have now expired. It looks like people moved out of places that were at least $100. a month cheaper last year, at this time. Now, a lot of corporate sociopaths want one year leases so if it smells bad, you are stuck.

I know the places you have found. Portland is an old town and I have been raging about exploitation because if it looks like an Oregon duck, it's an Oregon duck.

Raping people, while acting green is sick.

I can leave, I live on good pensions. I can qualify for a lot but I'm not going to pay it.

I am in Beaverton. What can I do to help you? Can I go look at some places for you? I am a native and feel really ashamed...so just ask...I will be here for two more weeks.
