I'm a Labor & Delivery RN moving to Portland, OR the end of this month and wanted opinions on local hospital birthing units.?? Local RNs' opinions or leads would also be greatly appreciated! Labor and Delivery/Postpartum jobs aren't exactly easy to find at this time, but I have faith the right position will open @ the right time. Looking forward to helping deliver some sweet Portland babies in the near future

I delivered at St Vincent in NW Portland and LOVED all the girls in L&D! My experience was wonderful there!

Awesome! Thanks COPSGIRL73, I have talked with the management @ Providence in the past and they seem top notch! Now just to get a fulltime position! )

I delivered 3 babies at Providence St Vincent and for the most part had great experiences. All the L&D nurses were awesome. I did have one nurse in Post Part that was some what rude...I mean my son was a cryer and a loud one at that, and she made several rude comments about it as if it was a bother. I look at it this way, if you can't handle a crying newborn, then you are in the wrong line of work. But that was an isolated instant. I loved delivering at St Vincents. Good luck.
