After years of following in the footsteps of my past I have decided to let go of everything and move forward -- starting anew and leaving the past to rest. I'm a 24 year old single mom of a little girl (soon to be 5) so I'm looking for a LARGE amount of information regarding good schools (possibly with an after school care program), childcare, non-denominational churches with youth programs, and of course, good neighborhoods to browse for apartments or modular homes. My price range is anything up to about $700.00 for a two bedroom - preferrably with washer and dryer hookups -- if that price is possible

It's a pretty lean job market, krd122. I'd suggest that you start with perusing
Oregonian Live. You'll get a feel for what is up and down in the job market.
It's a bit gloomy but you have youth and energy which can go a long way in today's workplace. Try some jobs that you might not really want for a long time as they might open other ideas for you or even get you a lead or two for what you really want to do.
When my wife and I moved here 3 years ago her job contacts were getting to know people who were networking. It's not a money maker to network, but it can sure offer you opportunity.
Keep a positive mental attitude and don't give up - often, it's just before you feel it's hopeless that you really get surprised. Good luck.
