Point blank Sho Donozo would have won the election (or just about anyone else) if you told the truth about what happened.
There are plenty of other gay men out there, who are actually men.
No reason to go after anyone who is underage.

Yet another corrupt pervert appears in OR politics. (alongside Packwood and Goldsmit).

Is there something in the water?

Is this a record for fewest number of days in office before utterly disgracing yourself and embarrassing your consituency?

Incredible. What a complete embarassment to Oregon. Adams had several opportunities over nearly two years to admit a mea culpa, and plenty of time to possibly repair his rep.

I can only say that I didn't vote for him and wouldn't have, even if I lived within Portland city limits. And yes, I think he now holds the Oregon record for absolute sleaziness. Shame on him.

Too bad. I liked Sam and I thought he would make a good mayor... yes, shame on him.

What a tough situation. I sure hope he didn't lie about the age of the other guy when this happened. But now, who would trust him... ouch.

This makes what John Edwards did look tame. I don't see how he can effectively be a credible mayor with this over his head.
My prediction, is he will be gone by 2/28.

I agee with you beenhereandthere in that he will be gone soon. It can't be soon enough. He is completely ineffective now. Would Adams' leaving precicipitate another election, an appointee by the guv'nr, Potter stayin on??? I don't know what the law is...maybe this situation has never come up before?

that didn't take long! I thought that it would only take about 6 months for him to do something stupid enough for people to dislike him.

good! I hope that guy is gone sooner than 2/28.

so does that mean dozono sho takes over since he was second place in the election?

The Honorable Sam Adams.

Actually, if he had been more honest about desiring minors to have gay sex with, Portland would have embraced that. We're easily that liberal of a city. But for it to come out like this and for it to be some big lie in order to get elected makes me wonder if he shouldn't step aside.

BTW, off topic, but I felt Obama's inagural speech was one of the best ever. I think in many regards he "gets it" more so than most politicians.
