This summer I'm going to start classes Western Culinary Institute. I have been looking for a place to live. last night I was on-line looking and found a site I really liked but lost my internet connect. I didn't get a chance to see the web site. Now I can't find it or remmember the name. It had 1,2 & 3 bedroom apartments, a study area, a area for students to watch T.V or play pool. can one help me find this again?

Could you be a little more specific, please? Was this housing associated with WCI, near it, downtown? Portland's kind of a large city and this sounds like something possibly associated with PSU. There are just too many apartment complexes around to figure this one out! Sorry...

PS: Congratulations on going to WCI! Good luck~

I don't have any other information. What I liked most about that one was the price of a 2 bedroom. Do you know of any student housing that has a 2 bedroom for about 450.00?

A two bedroom apartment for $450? Even for student housing that seems extremely low. Other than that associated with PSU, I don't know of any student housing that would be near WCI.

You might try these two links:
chnw.org (College Housing Northwest)
pdx.edu/housing/ (Portland State University).

PSU may be able to send you in the right direction, or suggest a sharing an apartment w/a student. Good luck~

I know the area you are talking about it's pretty close to Nob Hill or the Galleria stop on the Max...and if you expect to get a two bedroom for $450 alone tell me where it is, because I'll join you. I currently pay about $1,000 in Lloyd/Irvengton area for my concrete slab converted motel apartment (2 bedrooms) which is a steal compared to that area. I had a friend who lived in the area for a bit as well, and she paid more then that sharing...and had no place to put her car (though that was in 2003, so not as current).

Two bedrooms downtown for $450 is impossible unless that is the price per week, or you are living in a cardboard box under the Burnside Bridge ("spacious, right on the water!")

Is it possible you read the advert really fast and the $450 was to share? Even with two people that would be an amazing rent for downtown.

I'm not looking for a place only in Portland. Do you know of anything no more than 30 mile away from Portland. I do have a room mate but we would still like to keep our rent as low as we can?

Hillsboro and Gresham may be good choices for you if you don't mind being a bit further out. We looked at an apt in Gresham for $575 (i think) a month for a large 1 bdrm month to month lease.
