Have you considered renting from AirBnB? You can find a place in a nice area and negotiate the monthly rate with the owner.

I suppose you're right.... but... if that's their budget, then that's their budget. Do you really think you are going to walk into a high end luxury suites type of establishment and talk the owner down to 1K/mo because that's what you can afford? I don't. Maybe that's a character flaw on my part. I've never expected something for nothing.

AirBnB.com is a website where people post a spare bed(room) in their house for rent. Prices are very reasonable, typically less than a hotel, otherwise, why would anyone bother renting from them.
If AirBnB advertiser asks, say $50 or $60 per night, he might be willing to rent the room for 1K or 1.2K for the entire month.
First, he is unlikely to get someone every single night, and then he does not need to go through the hustle of dealing with a different guest each time.

The Budget Inn on McLoughlin Blvd. in Gladstone is a great extended stay motel with very reasonable prices. We stayed in a 2 bedroom unit, with a kitchen, for 1 month and it cost only $1,288. That was for 2 adults, 2 kids and a dog. The unit was more like a 2 bedroom apartment then a motel room. The staff were very nice and the complex was always clean. It is located on a major buss line and the I-205 freeway is just minutes away. I would recommend them to anyone that is looking for a cheap but clean long term motel. Here is their info in case anyone wants it:
Budget Inn
19240 SE McLoughlin Blvd.
Gladstone, OR., 97027
503-656-1955

I hope this is helpful to someone,
Aaron

Wow! 1300$ bucks is considered CHEAP? Are we even on the same planet? In las vegas if you shop around downtown you can find weekly motels for around 129$! that's around 516$ a month! Those monthly prices in Oregon seem kinda of insane! No wonder theres so many homeless!
