Unless you live here you won't understand. After months of dry weather we have real rain!! It's like giving spinach to popeye or taking away kryptonite from superman.

Oh man I saw this post and had to come see. I've been living in Ca. for far too long without much rain at all. We live in the high desert mountains. We see sun or snow and a very few days of rain a year. I was born in and lived a lot of years in that Oregon weather and I loved it. I LOVE the rain!!

Yeah, even I had a small smile on my face this morning, splashing through the puddles downtown. I'll admit, I was cursing the rain in May-June when it would just not let up (after surviving my first winter in Portland!), but after being gone for a while I missed it!

It smells so good outside this morning. After a 28 day dry spell, this rain feels fantastic! I can't wait for fall.

I prefer the year-round rain (well, with some snow in the winter) that I grew up with. Now I live in the desert and every drop is cause for celebration.

Am I to understand that in Portland you don't have rain year-round?
