Here's an example of what happens when you get caught without a fare on Trimet these days.

A 30 day ban from the system

Public record or not I am not sure we really need to see this in this manner. What is the point? Really? Unless the o.p. is Mr. Woods (unlikely) this is in very bad taste.

There's been quite a bit of media coverage about increase in enforcement.
The point is, they're not really playing games now and this shows they do go after those who get caught. If you get caught without a fare, they're not going to have mercy. The same information is posted on the city's website. Read past the name. This is no worse than copying and pasting public news articles, actually, it is not as bad, as it is a not a copyrighted material.

Unless they only catch 1 person a day or week, and the hundreds/thousands of others just keep doing what they're doing.

Or the ticket machines are still broken like always and you get caught while waiting until the next stop to buy one.

I agree this shouldn't be posted here.

It's OT. Public court proceedings do not belong here.

But is that all they do is give you a 30 day "boot" from the system? They should issues fines for theft of services. Let's start with at least $100 first offense.

I think it is in addition to fine. I saw on TV they are increasing enforcement efforts, but I blew it off as media exaggeration, then I started reading things about people getting cited for being on the platform to pick someone up, walk someone to train. When I found a big list of TriMet exclusion orders, I realized, maybe they really do mean business....

Moderator`s Note:

I wasn't too happy either about a specific person's brush with the authorities being trotted out for public view, regardless of it being in the public domain.

In future, please just provide a link to the source document itself.
