My wife and I are moving to Lake Oswego in the next few months. We have a 3 year old little girl. We have heard great things about the Lake Oswego area and we are looking forward to this move. What are some good activities for a 3 year old? My wife and I enjoy the outdoors, and hiking, but our daughter is still too young to go hiking. What other activities, either indoor or outdoor are available?

As a parent here in LO, I find it to be very child friendly.
There are a lot of good playgrounds & parks, one especially for her age, is the Roger Park, by the river with the Canada geese. Hiking here is not a strenuous affair.

There are very well organized activities by the City-you'll need to pick up the season activity magazine. There is a good little gym, in the downtown area, and another one in the Lake Grove, I think. My kids LOVE our library. The indoor tennis center offers lessons for the very young-I think they start at 4y.

The OMSI is a pretty short drive from here and has a huge room for her age group. There are more structured activities that you'll find like; painting ceramic, dance etc. but be honest with you, just the City it self is rather pristine and lovely that that will be a gift for any young child, but that of course depends on where you come from, as all things are relative. For a parent who takes their child away from a polluted, hurried, traffic ridden, big city with very little greenery-it should be a big improvement, at least for the kid....for the parents, oh well that could be a different take...

Good luck on your move!
