What websites would you use to find a place to rent, besides craiglists.? I can't seem to find any other website that isn't sponser by generic apartment complexs, such as apartment.com and such.?

Any help would be great!

Not sure why you do not like Craigslist but it is probably the largest and most all inclusive collection of rentals in the area. Both individuals and commercial property managers advertise on there. As long as you do your homework, Craigslist works just fine. I am not really sure there is much of an alternative other than maybe the local newspaper websites?

For low-end basic housing there is Housing Authority of Portland HAP and the Housing Connection database:
Housing Connections

and I am sure you found this on your own, but just to repeat---local daily newspaper on the web, rentals:
Apartments, Homes & Houses for Rent - Home Rentals in Oregon - OregonLive.com

Just keep in mind that very desirable neighborhoods, they have low turn-over of rentals, and in such neighborhoods, landlords don't advertise, they just post a sign on the property or just word of mouth. You may not find any advertising of rental spaces for the most desirable rentals.

Good luck.

Phil

This is a pretty damn informative web site...along the left hand side are some links to finding an apt.
