That's a good guess! I've been there once (for a church conference) and it's a cute little town. I totally raided the health store there. I know some girls who are from there - two brilliant, strong, and beautiful sisters. Neither of them lives there anymore (one is in Seattle, the other in Portland). Maybe one day they'll move back ....

Sorry, but the paper mill in the picture posted is not in Portland and has not existed in that capacity for years.

Good sturgeon fishing right below there, by the way.

If only we could harness the buildup of steam forming in the heads of some of the loyal Portlanders reading zimmyzee’s posts, Portland would easily achieve its goal of becoming the greenest city in the world.

Instead, the energy is wasted:

Congratulations...You've crossed the troll threshold by posting a picture of the same fricking pulp mill in Oregon City(not Portland), 3 times on the same thread...

It's less than 1 mile from Portland and Portland is downriver from this mess. Portland/Oregon City is indistinguishable except from signs. It's all one big cesspool. Enjoy.

I'm confused: (seriously - fill me in)

Is this the place that recycles 500 tons of paper a day and is 100% employee owned?
That's not green?

The problem is, that paper mill has not existed as pictured for more than twenty years. It's main function now is processing recycled paper. The mill has also won awards for being one of the cleanest, most eco freindly paper mills on the planet. If it was not, you can bet it would have been shut down years ago. It's also employee owned, not owned by a big conglomerate.
I know all this because I worked there as a young man.

Hmmmmmm, a factory that provides a service that is eco friendly, doesn't pollute, yet manages to use the ample natural resources of Oregon in a way that benifits everyone????
Thank you for pointing out this shining example of how nature, industry, and humans can be aware and work together to make a better world.
That's what makes Portland and Oregon a wonderful place to live.

It would be interesting for the source of the evidence of highly toxic sewage to be cited. What's the name of that mill by the way. You seem to know so much about it. Tell us.

Another poorly researched, juvenile, troll posted.

Keep it up, we are all laughing at the imbecilic level of your posts.....
It's good entertainment.
