Well I stopped taking the birth control pill in August 2006. My husband deployed to Iraq in October 2006. He returned from Iraq in April 2007 and I got pregnant in June 2007. My periods were so wacky after I got off the pill and while he was gone, I was getting a period maybe once every 2 months. But once he got back in April, we started trying and I got pregnant within 2 months. So less than 1 year after I stopped taking the pill I got pregnant. It could have happened sooner if my husband wasn't deployed but we'll never know that!
With my second daughter, I went off the pill in Feb. of 2002, and was pregnant by April. I certainly thought it would take longer. With my son, it was about 2 months!
My son is now two, and I've been off the pill for over a year and we're expecting # 4 in August. I suppose it really depends.
We weren't trying for #4...I had terrible troubles with the pill so I decided to go off for a while. We've had fertility issues in the past, so we thought we couldn't get pregnant. The odds seemed to be against us, but you never know.
Three months for me...I think I read that it takes 2-3 months for the effects of the pill to completely get out of your system. Supposedly you're not supposed to try within that time frame, either.
I got pregnant the month after I went off the pill. You are supposed to wait a couple of months to get everything out of your system. Contrary to popular belief, most women are much more fertile the month they go off the pill.
It took us about 4 months. I've heard you are supposed to be off the pill for 6 months before you try, but I don't think most people follow that advice.
Unfortunately, 5 months and counting since my wife went off of Orthro-Tri-Cyclen Lo back in mid-August
I know someone with the same issue.. She was on Ortho-Tri-cyclen also and she stopped taking it in September and hasn't been able to get pregnant yet.. I wonder if the birth control brand has something to do with it???
