Maybe.

You won't know until you take a pregnancy test.

All of the things you mention are also symptoms that accompany an approaching menstrual period.

Your post reads like someone with very long-term infertility, which is kind of curious.

(On pregnancy forums, posts like this are often answered by "we don't know. Post a pic of your pregnancy test after your period is due and we'll tell you).

Oh she’ll find people willing to discuss the minutiae of cervical mucus and other things over at the pregnancy boards. I opened many threads in the first trimester section that I wished my eyes could unsee! They have a bunch of TTC forums too.

Yeah, as somebody who's had recent pregnancies and spent a lot of time on forums related to that (and to fertility issues, though that was never a concern of mine), it's much more the language of now.

To the OP, it's possible...my own pregnancy symptoms were detectable within about two weeks each time.

I would test, wait, test again, myself.

You have polycystic ovarian syndrome? Mind if I ask if you've ever had thyroid problems, that you know of? Tendency toward fatigue, painful periods, thin or thinning hair, brittle nails, tendency toward constipation either now or as a child? Light sleeper?

I've had thyroid problems for about 10 years. I didn't have these symptoms this early before expected date of period. I usually get symptoms but a couple of days before. This have been almost 2 weeks before expected period.

You had an IUD before. What was “normal” during the IUD is not going to be normal when you don’t have hormonal birth control in your system anymore. The IUD gives you steady progesterone for years, while the normal state is for it to go up and down during the cycle. Once the IUD is removed, your body has to learn to produce its own progesterone and regulate the estrogen to coordinate with the new levels of progesterone.

Since I have had the IUD removed, I have experienced breast tenderness, the worst heartburn/reflux of my life, fatigue, mood swings, constipation, difference in craving levels for food, and many other symptoms that are associated with pregnancy. However, I am not pregnant. This is just my hormones getting back to normal. My periods have also not been terribly regular/predictable but thankfully they have been pretty normal. Many women also have much heavier periods if they had them prior to starting the IUD (which I had). The problems can also mimic thyroid problems. I had mine checked, but it came back normal. There really is some good information on this on the pregnancy sites.

Thank you for your reply. My period has been regular since having my IUD removed. I use an app to track it and the predicted start date is accurate. I track my LH levels as well and that was accurate also. I know I haven't been off of the IUD that long and don't know if the symptoms are due to that or if I may be pregnant. This was the first time that I've had an IUD and had it removed.

Well good luck to you! It's an exciting time but a nerve-wracking time too.
