NEW DELHI (AFP) – An Indian woman has given birth to her first child at the age of 70 after receiving IVF treatment, newspapers reported her doctor as saying Monday.

Rajo Devi, who married 50 years ago, gave birth to a baby girl on November 28 after in vitro fertilisation, said Anurag Bishnoi, a doctor at the Hisar fertility centre in Haryana state.

I'd rather take a bullet at age 70 than have a baby.

Abraham and Sarah. Anything is possible.

I just hope God gives her the energy to care for this child (NO doubt He will), and I am sure this child is here for a reason - if this story is true.

I'm 42 and have a hard time keeping up...bless her heart!

I know what you mean. At 46 I'm having trouble keeping up with my grandkids. I will never understand why anyone at that age wants to reproduce. I hope there will be someone to care for the child in a few years when the biological parents are unable to.

Agreed!

Then again, maybe it would be easier to survive the teen years when you are already senile.
