This is just the beginning folks. This area (Prescott/PV/CV) has gone seriously downhill in the past 5 years. Crime has skyrocketed, meth is everywhere, poverty, drug sales, organized crime, shootings, robberies, murders.

A biker gang had a huge shootout in Chino Valley today. Over 100 bullets were reported and over 6 people were shot. Two biker gangs, fighting most likely for the control of the meth distribution, shot it out like the wild west.

Time to wake up folks. This is not Mayberry anymore. This area is just as crime ridden, if not more so, than major cities are. This area once was a peaceful area, no longer.

This is crazy and sad.

I live only 1 1/2 miles from this reported crime. I did not hear anything but I did notice the helicopter. Hell's Angel's usually do harm to other gang rivals, the neighbors have seen them in the area since April and they kept to themselves. They are people just like you and I.

Chino Valley is a safe area to live in. It is a little ranch land/farming community and the people are friendly, caring and loving. It is the perfect place to retire or raise a family.

Our new neighbors who bought the house across the street from us, live in Buena Park, CA. They can't wait until they sell their house there and move to Chino Valley, AZ. We can't wait for that to happen, either as we just love them.

Please do not read into this as anything as being a isolated incident and the police dept have known about the Hell's Angels coming to Chino Valley since the day they arrived.

My mom moved there three years ago from L.A. and lives about a mile from the shooting. She had no idea about the shooting until I called and told her.

As usual, the OP is on the doom and gloom wagon. He mentions "Over 100 bullets were reported", but all the news reports that I've read put that number at 50. Also it is reported that 5, not 6, people were injured. There also is no mention of drugs in any of the articles that I've read, and that it was basically a "turf war" type thing.

While I certainly hate to see this type of thing happen in a neighborhood close to me, it is an unavoidable event, and could happen in any place that a person might reside, short of isolating oneself on acreage in the middle of nowhere. Even then you might find a pot farm in your back yard.

The response by local, county, and state law enforcement agencies is notable, and their continued presence in the area is the best thing they could do in light of the rumored additional confrontations.

once the wolves stop biting each other, dominance is established and they collectively and with good organization go after the sheep.

I am not so sure they are just people like you and I so speak for yourself. They are violent meth peddling gangs and if you think they make good neighbors well then you live next to some.

I believe that people who do not admit to the problem and speak out against it, are guilty of the blood that is spilled. Ignorance is not a defense.

Painting Chino Valley and Prescott with a make-believe brush of being la-la land and painting the Hells Angels as good quiet neighbors.

I live nearby this incident. I feel safe where I live. I would recommend CV for people to live inspite of this isolated incident. Unfortunately, there is no utopia..or La, la land.

As originally predicted, new reports are out. The Hells Angels and the Vagos shootout is about turf and who has control of the area in order to distribute meth to the residents of Chino Valley, Prescott and Prescott Valley.

According to the police, large amounts of meth were found at the scene. YCSO detectives stated that there will be more bloodshed in the Chino area and their fear is that innocent people will die in the community. The fight between the gangs is now an all out war. Detectives said meth is very popular in tri-city area and the use/sale of it is on the rise. Prescott/tri-city has one of the largest meth problems in the entire state of Arizona.

After the shootout, reports that as many as 150 more gang members were heading up from Phoenix on I-17.
