I was up in Prescott this past weekend, and we went by what looked like the main courthouse, and there was tons of poeple with tents selling handmade goods, seemed to be a lot of hippie/earthy type of pepole walking around which I usually don't see in Prescott considering how conserative it is.

So what is this, is it every weekend?

They will sometimes have arts and craft fairs at the courthouse on random weekends. There are some local (I think) artists and such that will sell their crafts/arts, etc. I usually keep track of Friday newspapers (In "The Scene" section) since they usually announce in there when there will be another one.

I love when Prescott has booths and concessions and food at the courthouse in good ol' town square! Its such a unique and beautiful part of an already beautiful town, and a great experience for one and all.

Prescott is not that conservative IMHO.............remember that town supports two Unitarian churches and I have seen quite a few 'hippie types' in/around town whenever I visit.

I have really liked the relaxed vibe lately up there.

I look forward to checking out the crafts fair once I'm in the Prescott area, buying a new house and will have all kinds of work/time to decorate it to mine and my wife's satisfaction. May find some nice things to move that effort along. If not, I'm sure it will still be a great way to spend a Saturday morning.

True. If you take the Prescott cultural "vibe" or mindset from the 1980's and compare it to today, it's like night and day. Back then, it was like 95% conservative and 5% liberal.

I would safely state that today it is about 20% ultra-conservative, 40% moderate conservative, and 40% liberal. The liberal crowd numbers are growing, while the conservative numbers are fading away.

Define ultra-conservative, moderate conservative and liberal. In my estimation, today's moderate-conservative was yesterday's liberal. So, does that make Prescott 20% conservative and 80% liberal?

So how often do these gatherings take place around the courthouse?
