Where is the best place to buy meat in Prescott?
Any independent butcher shops?

As far as I know there are no independant butchers in the area. I miss that. When we lived in Los Angeles, I bought all of our meat and chicken at a independant butcher shop.

Now I purchase my meat at New Frontier Market. I only eat Organic chicken and I buy that at Costco (better deal than NFM).

The Skull Valley General Store has local beef. Pretty good.

Combine thrip with a meal across the road at the Skull Valley Diner. Superb Mexican food. Best tamales and chile relleno you can find.

You can buy locally grown meat from Orme Ranch. They have a booth in the summer when the farmer's market is in session at Yavapai College. Otherwise, you can contact them through their website: Orme Ranch

Thank you for your comments. Our moving van should be arriving in the northern Prescott area around the middle of April. I'm sorry to be leaving a great butcher shop in TN. The local chain supermarket meat departments around here are hit and miss as far as quailty. And very few independent markets with a good meat counter. Thanks again for the information.
