I keep trying local spots with good reviews and they are consistently awful. Are peoples palettes damaged or do people just not know good food in this area?

Tried Luckys BBQ the other day. That has to be the most flavorless meat Ive had in my life. Im not really sure how brisket could end up tasting so flat. 4.6 on google reviews. Thats just insane.

I tend to agree. I cant even find a good place here that makes awesome fried rice. Canton Dragon is mediocre, and Panda Express is a chain. We need restaurants that serve better tasting food, not slop.

Meh...for the most part, I just think people are too picky or food snobs who like to call themselves "foodies" to make it sound better. As much as I enjoy a great steak at Ruth's Chris, I can also enjoy a hot dog at Maverik's gas station. My wife would NEVER eat a hot dog from a gas station. I've been to some gas stations in rural areas with hot food selections I could live off of for years.

Have you been to Papa's Italian Restaurant? My daughter's favorite Italian place.

I thik BBQ in particular is a matter of taste.
Many like it spicy, I don't.
I tend to like a sweet sauce and just make my own at home for pork or beef ribs and chicken.
I just take Kraft smokey sauce and add a common sweet and sour that I make myself to it.
That being said, I find that tastes in general are not necessarily mine. What reviewers like and what we like are not always the same by all means.

That's funny, I will take gas station coffee over Starbucks. It's cheaper, and just as good. Not a fan of their business or atmosphere. It doesn't have the clientele of the working class.

Wendys is better than any restaurant ive tried here. Im no snob. But when i pay for a restaurant meal i expect quality. BBQ is a matter of taste when it has taste. This crap was somehow flavorless. Thats almost a feat in itself. Maybe there was a salt and pepper shortage.

OK now you're being silly. I haven't had Wendy's in Prescott and only eat at any Wendy's if I'm desperate as there are too many other good options for a burger. I guess you haven't tried many restaurants in town because I've only had a few that weren't at least decent.

I've had FANTASTIC meals at:

Park Plaza, Two Mama's Pizza, Rosa's, Farm Provisions, Prescott Brewing and Lindo Mexico

My problem seems to be finding a breakfast that has been any better than a standard IHOP. We've tried:

Waffles & more (the worst we've tried by far), Lone Spur & Bistro St Michel. The best was The Local but it wasn't fantastic and definitely overpriced.

By far the WORST meal I've had in town was the Lynx Lake cafe. Some locals took us there after raving about it and it was terrible. The locals agreed and apologized for the food.
