Mayor Kell Palguta of Prescott Valley announced a master plan for a 360 acre regional suburban park planned to be developed off the west side of Viewpoint Dr and south of Roundup Dr. It was planned years prior but wants to get this rolling along.

Features:

5 acre duck lake/pond
Winding trails
4 softball/baseball fields
4 lighted tennis courts
4 basketball courts
2 soccer fields
Sand volleyball court
Large playground for kids
Boathouse

Quote from the mayor himself:

'#1 Continuing to push forward with the plans for a YMCA. This project will be a great addition to the Town and the team of individuals from the YMCA, the town staff as well as community leaders will do everything they can to make the YMCA a reality. I have complete confidence that we will succeed.

#2 The development of Agua Fria Regional Park and Sports Complex. The design for a 360 acre park located East of Granville Subdivision and West of the Viewpoint extension has been in the Master Plan for many years. The time is now to continue to push hard towards that goal. The addition of such a park will go towards the vision of making Prescott Valley a Sport Tourism destination for the entire Southwest. I recognize that this is not an easy task and will require a lot of work and even some luck but we will never know unless we put all efforts towards this.

I know this will work because this weekend alone 50 teams from California, Nevada, New Mexico and Arizona have converged into Prescott Valley for a girls softball tournament. As mentioned before this type of tourism helps to inject many thousands of dollars into our economy.

If you agree and believe in this vision be sure to share this with your friends and family and encourage them to follow along through Social Media and support our Council and upcoming Council Candidates up for election in November that believe in the same vision. It takes a team to accomplish things and transform a community.'

Which similar park? Are you talking about Mountain Valley Park or Urban Forest Lakes Park?

Only way to do this is if you were to use Astro turf for the land area and a shallow lake with a no leak liner.

They should turn the entire town into a lake.

You guys are funny, the park will be a nice addition to PV. Watching ducks and Canadian geese at Agua Fria Lake will be a calming experience.

Looks like the park is hitting the preliminary design stage for FY22-23 for $50,000. From the link, construction is slated for FY2027-2028 with costs of $12,000,000. Click the Parks/Community tab for information.

I've made suggestions to the vice mayor and mayor of Prescott Valley on how the park should be designed aesthetically and functionally. Examples are from a gorgeous park called Mansel Carter Oasis Park out of Queen Creek, AZ. Might make a trip out there sometime and check it out myself.
