On a positive note, we're getting a W&Z Japanese Hibachi grill off Hwy 89A and Viewpoint Dr in Prescott Valley sometime this year at Pronghorn Plaza strip mall. Not Vietnamese, but close enough for my Asian preference. Looking forward to it.

With Rubio's Coastal Grill closing a lot of locations in California, maybe we could get one up here? I want to see something different from what we have here, burger/chicken, Mexican and greasy diners.

One thing the OP needs to realize is that not all people like Vietnamese food. We sure don't. And, with the 2023 demographics of Prescott sitting at 85.6% white, not much other demographics left. Phoenix is big enough to have all kinds of ethnic restaurants. When we want "Asian" type food, we head to Panda Express.

That's akin to visiting Taco Bell for Mexican food.

That should be a felony.

Well, a misdemeanor, at least.

Ok, an infraction.

Panda Express, really? There are hundreds of better places for Chinese food in Arizona. Diversify your taste palette.

He did write "Asian" type food. It's in quotes.

Aren't pandas endangered? Americans will eat anything, ANYTHING, if it's fried and covered with sauce.

What?

Many white people like ethnic cuisine just fine, and appreciate when it is done authentically. This area may be mainly white, but many are originally from diverse areas, and may appreciate a Vietnamese place.

Just because your tastes run boring (Panda Express?) it doesnt mean others are the same.

Yet we have 8 Thai restaurants in Prescott. I'm only asking for 1 Vietnamese. Luckily the 1 Indian restaurant is pretty good.

We do "diversify" our taste buds, as in: Going to a local authentic Mexican Restaurant, that we really, really like. Going to Olive Garden for a spaghetti meal. We don't go to Panda Express very often. But, foods from some countries just don't cut it with us. We just aren't that "diversified" for-to-say. That is our choice. Differences in what people eat, is really up to them.

IOW, if there isn't much of a call for certain types of restaurants, nobody will open any. Profit is the name of the game.

Why should anyone have to diversify their taste palette if they have no desire to? The last thing that I would want to do while diversifying my taste palette is ordering and paying for a meal that after trying it I can't stand? It's not try before you buy and restaurants are giving out free samples of their entire menu.
