Everyone on Around the Horn ripped him, so this may be a moot point.

Solid comments by Alanboy395 as always. Five days later and I am still befuddled by his comments about McNabb. Weird.

The one thing I do want to comment on here is the offensive line. I saw the highlights of the game on Showtime's "Inside The NFL" and that protection looked pretty suspect. I don't know how many sacks the line gave up but it didn't look good. But I will also give credit where credit is due. Ndamukong Suh is the best rookie D lineman I've seen come through the pike in years. He just might be one of the reasons that the Redskins O-line had problems.

The old saying goes "the devil is in the details." This issue might have been festering for a while, maybe since week one. The only other thing I can think of is going after the high profile and high salary players for not producing, he has already demonstrated that with his handling of Albert Haynesworth.

Challenging a players heart might be one way to get one motivated. Challenging a players IQ, however can be a good way of alienating your players. Certainly Shanahan should realize that.

Whole lot of misinformation here.

Mike Shanahan is arguably the best game planner and play caller in recent NFL memory. The 1998 team was one of the greatest offenses in NFL history and even after Elway left he turned the Brian Griese led 2000 team into the #2 ranked offense of that year until Griese blow up his shoulder and was never the same again. He took Jake Plummer led teams to the playoffs in 2003, 2004 and 2005, going all the way to the conference championship in the later. Shanahan's only downfall has been his constant changing of defensive coordinators and schemes, astonishingly bad drafting, picking his assistant coaches based on nepotism and a reluctance to adopt his offense to the times.

Long story short, Mike Shanahan the Head Coach is Hall of Fame worthy. Mike Shanahan the General Manager sucks the big one.
