The political propaganda, halftime show, butchering of the anthem, untalented Glee singer, commercials...all unbearable, but the game (the only thing I was interested in) was exciting. GB went up early but Pittsburgh kept it competitive, in fact they dominated the entire 3rd quarter but fumbled on play one of quarter 4. As a non-Packer fan who was cheering for GB, I enjoyed it. At least they started it before 7 PM EST this year.

wait what was the political propaganda? The Obama- O'Reilly interview?
The anthem was horrid, not just the butchered line the whole song just sounded bad in my opinion.
The game itself was awesome. But the commercials weren't the best. The Star Wars one was the best And by what i heard that Christina Auguliera (sp?) screwed up the National Anthem... Epic Failure and Black Eye Peas sucked? Damn Now we probably gonna get Bieber in next year. O lord save s
If those are the reasons the Super Bowl was not a good one, then that confrims my suspicions that the Super Bowl has gotten far away from what it should be. It should be about the FOOTBALL, and the fans, not a Hollywood sell-out for the rich and famous to be seen, and about lame halftime shows and commercials. Time to do away with the ridiculous commercialism, and start holding the game in places like Green Bay, Chicago, Cleveland, Philly, Boston, Buffalo, Pittsburgh, etc.

Thank you! This confirms my suspicion that the poster who criticized me for saying basically the same thing was WRONG. When the football game takes a back seat to commercials and the halftime show, it's time to stop having a Super Bowl.
Both Fred314X and gophillies are right. This matchup was originally called the AFL-NFL Championship when the merger between the two leagues occurred in 1966. It is about the best NFL team for that season-period.

Exactly...its funny that a lot of people are saying that this was a bad Super Bowl, when it was not a bad game....it was a good game, it kept me watching until the end, and I'm not a fan of either team. The Steelers had a chance to win it right up until their last drive. Who cares if the commercials and halftime show stunk? Commercials are supposed to stink and be an annoyance. I think they should just get rid of these halftime shows...bring in a local high school marching band to play a halftime show.
I cant believe anyone could say this is the worst Super Bowl or even close to it. Do those people not remember the Super Bowls in the 80s and 90s that were complete blowouts and the NFC winning 14 in a row with the AFC giving very little competition in many of those games.
My god, I thought this was a sports forum. If you want to judge the game on the other crap, go to the entertainment forum.
100% agree. This year wasn't great but only because we've been spoiled over the last decade with some pretty good games (minus Bucs/Raiders and Ravens/Giants).
This year's game was better than any 90s superbowl except the Giants/Bills and Rams/Titans, which oddly were the first and last Superbowls of the 90s, aka, the bread of the **** sandwhich.

LOL. Thats what I'm thinking. Anyone who thinks this was one the worst Superbowls ever must not have watched football in the mid/late 80's and 90's, most of those Superbowls sucked monkey ballz.
Since when did the halftime show, NA, and commercials dictate whether the Superbowl is good or not? This thread belongs in the sewing forum.
I agree - watched the Game from beginning to end. I did comment that those that watch for commercials would be disappointed, ce le vie. Good game and that's what Super Bowl should be about.
