Okay, I'm so tired of these rules that does not make sense which these rules that were made by Goodell. What is up with this guy? Is he having a boring life and wants everyone to have a boring life with him by making these rules that is taking so much out of the NFL? Especially when he talks about "safety of the players" when actually it's all about money so the teams will not lose their valuable player that they had invested lots of money in. And is the NFL becoming which I hate to say..."soft"? like last season when one of the Eagles game was canceled because of heavy snow, now if this was the 1960's(and backwards) their would'nt be any cancelation of games because back then football was an IRONMAN sport, not with a bunch sissies that they have today(although not all of them). And Jim Brown is a living proof.
There is a competition committee that puts together and votes on the rules of the game. Goodell does not have the authority to make rules on his own.
There is a lot of medical evidence coming into play regarding injuries and the fact that NFL players life span is significantly shorter than the average person should be a concern.
When it comes to snow, there becomes a point when there is so much that is destroys the game. Why play if the game is going to be like 3-0 because neither team can gain yards due to the snow. The teams are also businesses and in order for them to make money, they need fans to be able to show up.

( I am asking, as in the code that I follow - Australian Rules, they rushed in a rule 3 days before the start of the season stating if a player is concussed they can not return to the field. They used NFL findings as the reason. )

Now, if a head injury is suspected they really make sure the player didn't suffer a concussion - or he must sit out. We have some older players from the NFL (Jim McMahon) who were so battered each Sunday that now they don't know who they are half the time. That's why we love the game, lol.

Both wish that they had never stepped on the field.
Both have extremely bad knees, hips, feet, hands, shoulders and poor overall health due to steroid use.

Cheers, they've implemented the same rule here - seemingly based on NFL data....plus we don't wear helmets. There is one player claiming brain injury now.
Don't have a problem with it per se, other than the other rules they also implemented, further hindering the team (one less on the sidelines - there are now only 3 players on the bench & 1 subsitution - can be used if player is concussed).

And they're only in their 50's.
who forced the needle in their butt? maybe if they didn't take steroids they wouldn't have been good enough to play and that'd solved their problem in the first place!
even when the average player only plays 2.5 years, take one signing bonus and invest that money concervatively and they should be able to retire in their 50's, wayyyy ahead of the rest of us.
and that's not counting the many who play longer and get huge contracts. And all these teams, via the league, actually get financial help and get presentations on how to handle their money, how to invest it, from day 1, it's mandated by the league. All NFL teams have all kinds of staff that help with off the field stuff like that yet many of them end up broke -- no excuse, only themselves to blame.
